Zoe Goldemberg
I was not born in Miami, my parents are not from here, and I won't live here for the rest of my life. I am an observer in life, like Joan Didion in "Slouching Toward Bethlehem, passing through Miami in awe of its grandeur. I have loved my unique upbringing here and aimed to depict the subtleties which I have come to appreciate about Miami through this series. Whether it be beach crabs, jellyfish, my favorite spot on the pier, or lifeguard towers, Miami's magnificence is exhibited through my own experiences. By transmuting similar forms over and over in different capacities each time to amass these distinct structures, I am able to use 3D modeling as a method for digitally capturing the essence of my environment. Through this series, I have been more observant of my surroundings and carry this insight into my designs through analysis of nature's elegance and its relation to the human experience.
