Organic HUT made of composite materials that focuses on mass, manufacturing, and ergonomics. Removing load-bearing walls, integrating junk-to-function materials, and analyzing complex systems to be applied in extreme environments. Thinking divergently, I also proposed that astronauts might not need gloves and instead they should have soft robotic tentacle appendages… more to come on this.
Spacesuits merge my studies in materials engineering and apparel harmoniously, and I’m excited to continue this work as a NASA spacesuit engineer at the Johnson Space Center this summer.

Hydrodynamic Scuba Suit, 2025

A performance-driven scuba suit designed to optimize movement through water using compression zoning and biomorphic panel placement inspired by hydrodynamic flow lines. The suit combines flexible stretch materials with sculptural pattern engineering to support mobility, streamline resistance, and heighten spatial awareness underwater.

Does the texture and porosity of machine knit fibers affect moisture retention and, consequently, organism survival? How can we integrate organisms into knit materials as a strengthened composite material with regenerative properties?

Process photos and growth trials from this semester. Including composite material agar bioplastic-biospheres, cultivating organisms on clear monofilament machine knit fibers, an inspired workspace, fittings, AI powered interface websites, and setting up microcontroller circuits to measure temp/humidity for each growth case and graphing the resulting average data sets.

For this chair design, I carried out the idea of symbiosis and the interactions between organisms which allows for substantial advantageous results for both entities. Living in Miami, Florida and being surrounded by the beautiful flora and fauna, I wanted to take inspiration from the natural world to then combine Miami’s ideals of land and sea elements, concentrating on underwater creatures such as jellyfish, as well as above-ground eco-systems such as strangler fig trees. Using Autodesk Maya, I was able to create a 3D engagement with this chair intervention and specify its function as symbiotically interacting with human beings. In terms of material, I chose to demonstrate a 3D printable piece, keeping in mind conditions of sustainability as this 3D printing process would incorporate a biodegradable PLA corn-plastic based filament. I then coated the intervened piece with a biodegradable epoxy resin. This piece was later attached to Philippe Starck’s AI Chair by Kartell and later displayed/ sold at Showfields in Miami during Art Basel Week Miami. 2020

This collection of work serves as research into materials and parametric growth. Consisting of 8-10 distinct structures, the pieces can inform the body individually or layered gradually upon one another, creating an endless metamorphosis. The idea of metamorphosis is further translated with the stages of style, where a piece that is considered bone then meets an overlaid skin, or vice versa. Growth, and how things grow through parametric expansion, was notably a continuous, evolving, asymptotic source of inspiration.

Final work for first semester drawing studio at RISD inspired by Quino’s iconic Argentinian comic character, Mafalda, and Christo and Jeanne Claude’s “Surrounded Islands” land art work from 1985 in Miami. These two art historical references allow for a subject matter to be highlighted— Mafalda being used as a vessel to translate revolutionary ideas/philosophies and Surrounded Islands to demarcate Miami’s intervention of humanity and water. This garment serves to engage the two and subsequently enable my multifaceted heritage and upbringing. I began by making an anatomical study of Mafalda and translating her figure into identifiable shapes and forms— I used elements like stuffing to create Mafalda’s iconic silhouette through garment protrusions while incorporating design forms that mimic Miami’s archipelagos. During the process I was perpetually thinking about hybridity, the body, and silhouettes.

Artificial Intelligence and Design— RISD Industrial Design Wintersession final project

One week design sprint. Collaborating with artificial intelligence as the morphogenetic agent to create a feedback device that executes patterns/drafts for garments. Dressing the body from the cellular level outward by creating garment patterns for all aspects of the body— FOR a cell, FOR the skeleton, etc. Creating garment patterns for all aspects of the human body, nature, and beyond, as an artificial collaborator might see fit. Patterns for singular units, cells, intelligence, humans, buildings, etc.

This collections marks the end of my highschool journey at DASH as I will soon embark on my college career at Brown University/RISD in the Dual Degree program. I took the liberty of experimenting and expanding on all that I’ve been developing over the past 4 years with the use of 3D printing, laser printing, even incorporating elements from my 2D artwork into 3D fashion garments. I adapted my digital renders into laser printed fabric and then based the designs and nature of the pieces around them. There’s so much that I could say about this collection and I could not be happier with the final pieces+how amazing the show turned out as a result of a collective effort between my peers, teachers, models, and everybody in between.

The physical, tactile act of creating connections between organisms and pursuing degrees of biological impact served as an exploration of growth while treating the map itself as a growing organism and the city like a biomorphic, pulsating machine! ​​My sketchbook is an untamed testament to a longing for experimentation and practice. Massive in size, here is where my creativity roams free with the physical act of cutting, pasting, inking, writing, painting, and any other deliberate action this book might entail. The pages range from an analysis of my favorite designers/artists to process pages for upcoming bodies of work. A diverse array of themes prevail from evaluation of South Beach people-watching to collections inspired by brutalist architecture and Hello Kitty. The book's tactile protrusions further allow for interaction with the viewer, as well as investigation of materiality. This book is one of many, and I will never cease to explore art in its purest form of creative release.

Design Engineering— Brown University

Designed as an assistive technology device for people who are blind/visually impaired, ‘Paas’ (Urdu word for near) is an ergonomic, handheld navigational tool that relates distance to vibration motors to alert the user when something is nearby.

Through vibrations that are proportional to the distance of the object, Paas empowers the visually impaired user with a greater understanding of their physical environment. We ideated/modeled/prototyped navigational tools that ranged from an environmentally-changing handheld device run by actuator motors to haptic feedback gloves, and everything in between. A large consideration for us was activating the tactile world around us– a world highlighted by the inherent needs of someone who is visually impaired. We arrived at Paas, taking into account the initial problem/situation that we sought out to solve while emphasizing our evolution of design consideration, learned arduino/microcontroller knowledge, and user input in terms of adapting a functional device onto the organic lines of the human body.

How can we better understand organic form? How can we graph it? Does organic shape deny parameters? If I lay my body on an axis, could I assign parameters to each quadrant of the human figure? Lots of questions, this project aimed to find some answers!

Wearable structure from found materials— using only white plastic trash bags to create a head-to-toe structure. Cutting strips of plastic, tying the pieces together, and crocheting the material using single crochet chain technique throughout. 1/4 of a group project where we dealt with themes of continuity and infinity, hard and soft plastic, and final looks that resemble aquatic life.
