As I seek to discover the relationship between humanity and our surroundings, I’ve focused my attention on the subtleties of my upbringing. This meaningful and symbolic wall installation takes inspiration from my father and uncle’s childhood boat in Argentina, El Gitan. This work recalls my sentimental memories of voyaging Mar Del Plata on El Gitan in an extreme coincidence when I was last in Argentina. I deconstructed the boat into abstracted pattern pieces and involved the layering of fabric to achieve the final design.
