Élan vital

As I move through life, change, and loss, I’ve become increasingly observant of my surroundings; be it nature’s elegance or the interpersonal dynamics that define the bounds of my world. Through this fashion garment I aimed to explore how the human body can act as a catalyst from which organic form can emerge. I derive from a vast line of Argentine architects and just like they used sites to influence form, I used the human body itself as a canvas for limitless creation.
I incorporated 3D printed adaptations that allow for fluid lines and shapes, traversing from the digital to physical realm. Favorite spots on the pier, shadows of the palm trees, and people watching all translate in the form of digital modeling and are carried throughout the piece as wearable objects. Ultimately, my affinity to Miami’s biodiversity has allowed for this garment to capture the vitality of life and memorialize my upbringing in this unique city.
