For this collection, I challenge the viewer to imagine a dystopian future where everything is marked by modernity and pristine white blankness. Turn to graffiti. Graffiti activates spaces. It transforms slabs of concrete into areas of motion and wonder. In a similar sense, I want to track graffiti as distinct moments in time that come together to activate form on the human body. I aim to truly examine the metropolitan activities that I see in the city streets and apply these understandings of our surroundings into works of bodily design. I created the motif seen in the background by transmuting graffiti tags over and over, as well as developing those similar shapes onto the human figure. Garments, activated.
